Titre du projet
Micro CT scanning Investigation of miniature boxwood carvings
Descriptif du projet
This project aims to collect and compare micro CT scans of a number of important miniature boxwood carvings, all Northern European and dated to the early 16th century. These objects are the focus of an upcoming exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario (November 2016), Metropolitan Museum of Art (2017) and the Rijksmuseum. Objects in the project have been scanned in London, Canada at the Western University, in Baltimore, MD, USA at the Chesapeake Bay Imaging Center, at the National History Museum in London, UK and at the John Glenn Research Centre, NASA, in Ohio. The objects at the Musée du Louvre that we would like to scan are of extraordinary quality: the scans will allow their comparison to other objects.
